The price of vanadium has increased drastically in 2018. This is mostly because of the hope that vanadium could be used to solve some large energy storage problems, through vanadium redox batteries. Most of the produced vanadium is still today, however, used in alloys with cheaper metals. In this video we explore the chemistry of vanadium in an accessible way.
