The Jagadguru's Anugraha Bhashanam at the Ayurveda college (English subtitles)

Jagadguru, Pujyashree Shankara Vijayendra Sarasvati Shankarācharya Svami, teh 70th Peethathipathi of the 2500 year old Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam spoke at the conclusion of a seminar on "Mani, Mantra, Aushadha" at the Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Ayurveda College and Hospital. He gives a historical context as to how His Guru, Jagadguru Jayendra Sarasvati Shankarācharya Svami, the 69th Ācharya, took bold steps to start this college. He outlines the beauty of traditional knowledge, its universality and the benefits to the world. He also elucidates issues on the problems these streams of knowledge have faced in recent times. Through this seminar, His brainchild, He had experts form three streams of traditional learning, Shastra, come together. The confluence of Ideas, He said, will help the tradition grow. Mani denotes time literally but in this context is Jyotisham or predictive astronomy, Mantra is for Vedas and its sacred, healing chants, and Aushadha, literally meaning herbs, is for natural medicine. He gave the audience a lot to think about and embrace.
